VBR: Upgrade locally (for customers)

Prerequisites

  • Your reseller provided you the .iso file (here is how they can do it)
  • Make sure you have 25 GB space
  • Your Veeam installation is at least on version 11A
  • You have a configuration backup (and possibly a database backup)
  • check if there is any running jobs > wait until they finish
  • disable all jobs
  • close the VBR console on the server

Upgrade

Mount the .iso file

Run the Setup file as administrator

Click upgrade

Click Upgrade Veeam Backup & Replication

Accept the license agreement

Tick in Update remote components automatically

If you have been using the rental license from us, just click Next.

If you are a new customer and have been using a different license, change the license to the rental license (your reseller will give it to you).

Wait for the system configuration check during which step, the installer will enable any possible missing features.

In case a reboot is required, reboot the machine and continue afterwards

Note: you'll need to mount and run the setup again after reboot.

Choose the Service Account - usually, this is Local System.

Configure the database settings. If you installed Veeam with default settings earlier, then this should be good as it is.

Confirm the database update.

In case you get a warning about the available disk space, adjust your disk accordingly before going on with the installation.

Click Upgrade.

Post-upgrade tasks

Open the VBR console. If it prompts you to update some components, just do so.
