Licensing VBR

Make sure that the CloudBrokers rental license is used for the customer’s VBR. Go to Options:

(Note: the Support ID might differ to what you see here in the screenshot. It changes annually.)

If the Type says "Community edition", you need to install the Rental license.

If it’s showing some other license (e.g. perpetual) and not the Rental license, but you know that the Customer should be licensed with the Rental contract, you need to replace it.

To get the Rental license file, log in to the SP console and assign a license to the customer. Then download the license file and copy it to the VBR server. Click here to see how to manage licenses in the SP console.

Then click Install here in the license menu of the VBR server, then choose the Rental license file, and Save.

Update license automatically

To enable usage reporting and a proper connection to the SP console, tick in the “Update license automatically (enables usage reporting option)” highlighted by yellow in the previous screenshot.
