Connect to the hypervisor

Open the VBR console 

Start > Veeam > Veeam Backup & Replication Console

Choose Inventory > Virtual Infrastructure

Choose the server type > if you want to create backups of a hypervisor, the type will be either VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V. (In the example, we use Hyper-V but the wizard is the same for both types)

Give the DNS name or the IP address of your hypervisor

Choose the appropriate type

Add the administrator credential of the hypervisor by clicking Add > fill in the credentials > OK Choose it when it appears in the drop-down.

Click Next >

Set the Task limit. The rule of thumb is that the number of tasks can equal the number of CPUs. (It cannot be higher than that.)

Click Apply.

Veeam will configure the connection to the hypervisor.

Click Next >

Review the summary, and click Finish
